Description
In Love and Hate: The Mask of Impersonation, I explored the theme of identity and the tension between emotional opposites. The centerpiece of the project is a poster featuring a fragmented face, with another face replacing the original. This visual symbolizes the masks we wear to conceal our true selves, highlighting the discomfort of hiding our individuality behind the personas of others.
Expanding on this concept, I created an animation projected onto a human subject. The projection serves as a metaphor for internalizing others' emotions and identities, while suppressing the extraordinary parts of ourselves. The interplay of the words "Love" and "Hate" further underscores the internal conflict between these opposing emotions, showcasing how they shape and distort our sense of self.
This project merges graphic design and motion art to examine the fragility of identity and the emotional struggle between authenticity and external influence.
